I second the sock idea! All four of my dogs will take a sock over a store-bought toy in a minute. Course with the sock comes the promise of a tug-of-war! I just tie a knot in the middle of the sock to try to differentiate from the good socks. LOL!

We have toys all over the house. They like to play with them best when I am putting them away. If yours is not ready for playing with toys -- don't worry. Some just are not all that facinated by a squeaky piece of rubber or stuffed animal. If your little one will play with you and romp around a little -- that is just as good. You will be able to tell if they are happy or not.
