I know I am repeating some of what I already said but I am trying to make sure I gave all the information. LOL
Lady went back to the vet today. Yesterday her abdomen started to swell. The vet doesn't know what this is but suspects she might have a ruptured colon or uterus. He drew some fluid from her abdomen and said it looked pussy. He sent her home so I could take care of her tonight. They don't have anyone staying over night. Tomorrow she goes in for an operation to see if he can find out what is causing the problems. I am still forcing her to eat and take the medicine but she drinks water on her own.
Amber had babies today, a girl and 2 boys. I took Lady's boys and put them in with Amber's babies, she accepted them readily. They lost weight back to their birth weights and so are only an ounce bigger than Amber's babies. Lady's babies are 8 days old and even tho they have lost weight rather than gaining they are healthy and strong. They are so strong I am concerned about the new borns getting their milk so I will be watching their weights carefully. The vet suggested I put them with Amber's babies before he knew I did it, he tried to express milk from each of Lady's breasts and got none.
