Get on the phone, call Legal Aid.....they are a free service by the city you live in...they could give you advice....tell you how to delay the proceeedings....
Can you talk to the owner"s attorney, and tell them you can pay the balance on the 15 of Jan. Their attorney should be willing to help instead of going to court for the foreclosure....
