I think we're seeing a trend toward more pet-friendly accommodations as more people want to take little 'fido' or 'fifi' on the family vacation.
When hubby and I went for an overnight get-away (first one in YEARS!) a couple months ago, I knew I wanted to take Abigail. I looked and looked for decent pet friendly hotels; but kept coming up with places we really didn't want to stay

. Imagine my pleasant surprise to find a
historic Bed and Breakfast within driving distance that was pet friendly! Sure, we paid extra for the pooch - but, it was worth it to us. It was fun having her, and we didn't have to worry about leaving her with someone back home. I was rather nervous about potty accidents on the carpet - and NO WAY did I let her on the antique furniture downstairs - but she was such a perfect little girl! Not one potty accident anywhere - and, in a strange place!
