Default Travel with Pets......

Another topic from my newspaper today........
So, what do you do? What do you think?

I have to admit, we have gone somewhere w/o Mojo (day trip) and cut the trip shorter to get back to see him. OR we have gone somewhere and could have spent the night, but didn't want to leave Mojo home alone all night.

We normally take him if we go somewhere - which can be hard - but we have left him home for a day - never overnight by himself! If we do go somewhere and he can't go, my parents or inlaws keep him - which we know he is loving every minute of it at either place.

Is your pet going on a vacation this year? Probably so, according to a new survey by the travel site http://www.TripAdvisor.com . The results of a poll of 1500 travelers revealed how pets affect vacation travel.

For openers, 13 percent of respondents report that their pets prevented them from going on vacation at all. 29 percent said they take vacations, but fewer than if they were pet free. More than one-third (38 percent) reported they shortened their vacations so as not to be away from their pets too long.

There is some good news for hotels. 37 percent of those polled would be willing to pay more for pet-friendly lodging. The most frequently requested accommodations are pet kennels, but dogs appreciate interactive doggie daycare where they can play with human sitters, and mingle with others of their own kind.
