Oooops...I meant to address that in my response.
I also heat my house to at least 75 degrees. I usually have the heat set at between 75 and 78. I still used the heating pad. I think it is necessary because even with my house being over 75 degrees at all times the pups still liked the heat of the pad. I would dfinately get it and it only cost me $15 at K-Mart.
