you will have to take off the panties for her to go to the bathroom. as far as bleeding goes, it can be heavy or light. it can last from 5-10 days. each dog and period is different. they go into heat about every 6-12 months. just make sure you keep her in sight and away from male dogs. they can smell this up to a mile away and if you have any strays in the area, they can smell the odor. don't let her outside with out a lease or being fenced in. we have seen too many accidental pregnacies on this forum that was too scary for words. i hope this helps
