I've had lots of company as well over the holidays, and I have to be on alert at all times that no one picks up my little Luna, she's a jumper as well.
Since you repeatedly asked the kid not to pick up your baby, perhaps his parents should be punishing him and helping with the vet expenses. I hate when kids don't listen, especially when it comes to a pet's safety, that just irks the hell outta me. If it were my child that did that, I would personally pay the vet bills and take it out of their allowance for the rest of their childhood
