You are right to worry a bit about the bugs in Florida. When I lived in NC, I let my dog out in the yard unsupervised. But here in Florida I would never do that. At least not in the summertime. My DH was walking Rocco last summer and some kind of bug landed on him and bit him (so quick DH couldn't even shoo him away). We ended up having to take Rocco to the vet to get him on antibiotics. He had some kind of allergic reaction and the bug bite left a big hole in him. It was gross. The bugs here are gross!!
