That is scary! We can't stop Monster from jumping off anything. We have the stairs so that he can get on the bed, but he jumps off anyway (and our bed is about as high as yours). I was very scared about it at first, but fiance was like "Calm down, he clearly isn't hurting himself." I've realized that with Monster anyway, he'll jump when he knows it's safe, for example, he can fit through the rails on our back porch and has looked his head through and thought about it, but realized it was not a good idea.
