 Lacey won't Eat or Drink...
We have a 3 month old Yorkie, who has just had a rough life (hyrnia operation @ 2 months, 3 major hypoglycemic events...) And she is not eating or drinking on her own. If left alone with food, she will starve herself (see hypoglycemic event #2 & 3). We have tried finger feeding, syringe feeding... nothing on her own power. We have been relegated to force feeding her prescription diet (A/D) with a syringe, because she won't touch anything else on her own. The only thing she is starting to eat is pasta, but only in small amounts. We have tried: A/D, Iams puppy, some dry food, Nutrical/stat, baby food, cat food...
We have seen the vet about this twice. She has been de-wormed, checked for liver shunt, and given an appetite stimulant... not to mention antibiotic for her cough, meds for her diarrhea, bacteria replacement gel, and vitamins. Now, in the last 24 hours she has had diarrhea 7 times in 28 hours. This is not to mention that she has no interest in playing. Just likes to sleep and pee/poop... thats it.
Any advice or thoughts? |
