My adult can become aggressive around other dogs...ESPECIALLY if they start to get excited about going out or coming in....but, she has NEVER gone after a human..Has your son hurt him? Maybe when you son gets a little too active it makes him nervous and that is why he does that....and you are right about small dogs (not just yorkie) and children...they don't mix well...alot of breeders will not sell to a person who has young children for this reason and that the animal can get hurt..
Maybe ask a trainer and see what they think
