you are very lucky nothing happened to them....you are right about he gaurdian angel!!
I would be very careful leaving them out all night..not only could an animal get them but alot of small dogs, puppies and especially yorkies have been stolen lately...I saw on cnn news someone had broken into a house in Florida...stole money, jewerly and on the way out of the house took their 13 yr old yorkie that is on kidney meds....you can probably figure out the fate of that poor little guy....JMO but....I would keep them inside...
