 HELP - Tink's brother is so sick and our vet is closed!!!
You may remember Indy had a grand mal seizure last week and injured his back. He is 17 years old. This afternoon and evening he is shaking and whimpering. Today he can barely walk so I'm carrying him when he needs to move. I gave him his Deracoxib today ( 1/4 of a 25 mg tablet) but that's not enough for his pain. I called the vet but they are closed and the emergency vet hospital is not answering. He hurts so much, he tried to bite my finger when I stroked his face and when he realized he was biting down, he whimpered and licked my hand. He is incontinent from the back injury but keeps trying to get up to pee. When he moves, he just yelps and tries to bite his leg.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to help him 'til I can get him to the vet? I think he may have to go across the bridge pretty soon, but it makes me crazy to watch him in so much pain. I just want to crush all my own pain meds in some pudding for him and just wait with him 'til he goes home. What shall I do? |
