What is really strange about all this is that you regularly see warnings from Ebay and Paypal about email scammers that look like they are legitimately from Ebay and Paypal asking you click on a link and update your account information. Both sites state they would NEVER ask for this information via email or over the phone and most compromises occur because someone does this. Well, I haven't had any such email from anything resembling either one of these, nor do I EVER give that information over.
I'm just thankful that this was a one day, two time occurrance. It was 12 days from it happening till I tried to use my account and found the fraud. Who knows what else could have happened had I not wanted to buy that cute little treat jar???!!! I rarely have much $ in my checking account either, so by the Grace of God was there actually cash in there so I didn't have to endure insufficient funds penalties also!!!
When you change your passwords, make sure you are using both upper and lower case and numbers to make it more difficult for hackers. Never use your name, your hubby/children's names, birthdates or anniversaries either!!
