Pet store dogs or puppies are not bad. It is not their fault that there are unscrupulous breeders that breed volumes and sell to pet stores for pet stores to resell for them as they don't want you on their property or to see the parents, how they are housed etc. they will have so many puppies there cannot be a delay in getting current ones off their premises, a pet store will do just fine, they get their money from the store and no responsibility.
It is never the puppies fault.
But you have a very high risk of getting a puppy that is or will be sick with little or no recourse. Papers can mean nothing as papers regardless of the registry are only as good as the info submitted by the breeder. If the breeder is selling through a third party and does not even care enough to know if their puppy is getting an appropriate home or take other responsibilities I would be hard pressed to trust any registration they may provide.
Wait until January, find a reputable local breeder to buy your puppy from. I feel so sorry for those poor little ones in the pet stores and I have no idea how to put a stop to that cruelty of breeding and selling through pet stores or brokers.
