Nobody was more misguided than poor Coco and myself. Everytime I would say "sit" she would run away like I just cussed at her. So I started to change my voice fluctuations from command to playful and loving. I gave her a new treat, watermelon. She LOVED it. But I only gave her a couple of pieces. Then I would say sit. She would step back but still eye the watermelon. I helped her maybe a total of 12 times (gently pushed her rear down). Once I pushed her rear down, I would praise her so much and give her a bigger piece of watermelon. After a while she got it on her own. Then I started with another new treat, apples. That's how I taught her to lay down. The hi-5 was the surprise because she was doing it and I just named it. Now she stands on her hind legs too. I want to teach her to walk on her hind legs. It hink that will be easier than potty training
