First, I am so sorry about your loss. I totally understand how you feel and why you went with a different breed. I lost my beloved maltese, Nicki, this past May and not sure I will ever get over it. About a month later, I went to look at some maltese puppies and a shih tzu pup and although they were lovely little girls all I could do was cry when I saw them and, although I want another maltese, I just wasnt ready at that point. I purchased the shih tzu and he is a love. Yorkies, Maltese, and Shih Tzu are now my 3 favorite breeds.
I have just started looking for a Maltese again and may be getting one in the near future. She or he as the case may be will never replace my Nicki but I simply cant live the rest of my life without one of those pure white little furbabies to love. I do love my yorkies and shih tzu but I really want another maltese too. They are all small, non-shedding, smart, and loving breeds. Just wish I had a bigger lap sometimes! lol
