That sounds like a Bad Breeder COVER MY OWN BUTT Statement.

It common sense that exceeding the normal food intake can cause weight gain - but it shouldnt factor into actual size......but I don't think that statement is there for that reason...it sounds more like someone who has complaints because they misrepresented their yorkies and want to make a blanket statement saying it must be the owners fault they got a larger yorkie.

Edited to add - oscarsmom - good post - you're right about what you said ....I agree about overweight dogs being unhealthy - not to mention how hard it is on their hipjoints and legs
