Default Sharing a Crate?

I have a 16 month old Biewer boy that is crate trained. He comes to work with me for at least 1/2 the day, if not the whole day. He sleeps with me at least part of the night but does often want to go into his crate at night. Overall, he doesn't spend a huge amount of time in his crate.

A woman who lives locally owns his brother. They are from the same litter. She is unable to keep him and my husband and I will be picking him up tomorrow so that he can come and live at our house. I know that his brother is crate trained as well.

I have never had 2 dogs before. Once they have both settled into the new living arrangements, is it ok to allow them to share a crate if they want to sleep together? Or, is there a specific reason why each should always be in their own crate?
