I only have experience with my Sissy. She loves to play, but equally loves to be on my lap or cuddling in my arms. I would not describe her as hyper at all. We also have another dog (an Eskimo Spitz) who is 12 years old and has never acted like a dog (she does not play with toys, hates the car and walks and does not play well with others). She basically ignores Sissy or growls and snaps at her when she tries to get her to play!! So, I'm not sure who you would say is dominant there.
Sissy's most destructive habit is she will shred any kind of paper or tissue she can get her little paws on. You have no idea just how many tiny pieces a single kleenex can be shredded into!!!! She also tends to be a barker and will bark at anyone she sees outside, including the squirrels!! As long as she is not by a window, she is fine.
