Hello!
I am new here, and finally got up the courage to post.

I am planning to get a small breed dog sometime in the next few months, and a Yorkie is on my rather short list of potential dogs.
We have a small staffie, and she is a good little dog, but boy does she like "looking for trouble"! And due to her ridiculously big jaws and super high intelligence she is very hard to entertain, toy-wise. We're not sure if this is just her terrier nature, or if it is the doggie OCD (our vet actually recommended meds for it!), but I really don't want a dog that is a hyperactive little nut, lol. Yorkies are often described as lively, active, busy, etc, and I was wondering how that "translates"!
So, for all you yorkie owners . . . when your little ones are naughty, what is it that they do? I'd love to hear about the most terrible, destructive things you can think of.
Also, do yorkies like sitting on laps and cuddling? I really want a lovey, affectionate dog, not one that is aloof and likes to be alone. I would be getting a male, if it matters.
And is it true that if you have a yorkie in the house it just has to be the dominant dog? Our boy dog is a sweetie, but he is big and definitely not the submissive type.
Thanks so much for reading! I'd appreciate any advice you have, and look forward to meeting you all.
Regards,
Colette
