Thanks to all for your words of encouragement, and support. Below is an update on todays homecoming. Pebbles had a 5 hour drive home, and did pretty well considering.
Boy, when I first saw her, I don't think I was prepared for just how small she would be. I think I was just overwhelmed at that point. She just seemed so fragile. She did shake a lot at first, then she slept. She managed to pee (half on a pad ) once on the way home. I started to get nervous because she wouldn't eat or take any treats. She did take a drink of water. Once I was almost home and in the city, she did vomit. I think the start and stop, and turns got her car sick. When I got her out of the car she was still shaking. To be honest I was worried she was going to be so traumatized. I put her in her ex-pen, and she drank water, and ate a few pebbles of food. I was so relieved. She then went pee on the pads. She did poop, but not on the pad, and it got stuck to her, and she was running around, until I got it off her. LOL
At this point I was getting more relaxed.
I then gave her some toys, and she really started to play with them. It was fun to watch her play with toys almost half the size of her. I opened the door to the ex-pen, and she came out to explore. We played together, and she would chase my wife and I around the kitchen. She would lick us, and come by us to be petted. She really seemed to follow us around. After an hour of this I put her back in the pen, and she went to the crate on her own, she laid down and "passed" out for at least an hour. I then heard her whimper, and she had awoke, and peed by her food bowl. (well I guess she is 1 for 2 now.)
We seemed to have bonded in the short time we are together. Hopefully she won't be mad at me after I take her to the vet tomorrow for her checkup!! I will keep you updated. Below are some pics we took today.
