To my knowledge, tail docking is not illegal in Malta but during these last years the majority of Yorkies carry a full tail. There seem to be a concerted anti-docking campaign around the world to place pressure on governments to ban such practice. Here, tail docking is still being performed on hunting breeds.
I have forwarded this question since I had a very hard desicion to make during these last days. I had a litter of six - 3 males and 3 females and badly wanted to keep a female puppy. The smallest female (very very small) had all the positive points of a great little Yorkie, except that (through my little experience) she was to carry a little curly tail. This could be noticed by week 6. My choice fell on the second best, still a nice little puppy but some gramms heavier. A week ago I sold the little puppy with the curly tail

and I have had nightmares ever since and I cannot forgive myself
