Chattiesmom has given you great advice. I always type out my questions & concerns & take them to the vet with me. He's told me that he appreciates it & wishes everyone would do it. If your vet is good, he/she won't mind you asking questions. They will do bloodwork prior to the surgery to make certain everything is OK & the type of anesthesia they use is dependent upon the test results & what procedure you're having done. I generally start my conversation with, "I know I'm not an expert but I was wondering..." because it's true & I want my vet to know that I'm actively interested in what's being done with my dog. You & your furbaby will do great!
