You can get it done at your vet's office. Mine charges $28.00, plus you send$18.00 to the microchip company to register your pet's chip.
A lot of shelter's do it to, you can call and ask.
My vet says it is easier to microchip your dog when you have another procedure done. It can be painful for the smaller breed dogs because the needle is a bit large. (the chip itself is only the size of a grain of rice)
