Sad Muffin Got Her Stitches Out...& Then Put Back In

We just got back from the vet's (Dr. Bob) to have Muffin's many stitches removed. (Here's a link to the thread which explains her breast cancer & how she got them in the first place http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61649) Unfortunately, it seems 12 days wasn't quite long enough! The incision, near the center, was weak & started to split open during the car ride home. Yipes! I was freaking out, my husband was freaking out & Muffin was just looking at us like "What is wrong with you idiots?" So we turned the car around & back we went. She had some new stitches put in near the center of the incision & a couple of "anchors" at each end.

These stitches will stay in until after the New Year & Dr. Bob is extremely certain they're ready to come out. Hopefully this time it will do the trick & we can schedule the surgery for her left side then. She's all curled up, sleeping soundly right now & acting as if it was a non-eventful day. I've got to love her ability to be calmer than her two-legged caregivers! We'd appreciate any good thoughts you can send her way.

From our family to yours, we wish you all a happy & HEALTHY Holiday Season!
