I feel very badly for this 9 year old child, and I think counseling to get over this traumatic experience would be good for her. This incident could damage her permanantly. To place the blame on this poor child without knowing her is wrong. Most 9 year old girls are very sweet and caring.
But I am sorry to say I have gotten a bit cynical over the years with children. Families today are so different, there are alot of angry, abused, and just mentally unbalanced children out there. (sorry, it is sad but true)
I have seen & heard so many stories about things children have done, your hair would turn white and stand on end!
I decided after 15 years of teaching I was not enjoying it anymore.
So I quit. I was going to school to finish up my degree in counseling and decided I could not stomach that at this point.
I love children and have donated a lot of my time, money and energy for helping those less fortunate and just to help make their world a better place.
There are a lot of good people in this world and I surround myself with positive, caring people. I have 2 children, who are wonderful, caring, sensitive young adults. My children made silly mistakes when they were young, but they never intentionally or unintentionally hurt an animal.
They were raised around animals, so this might be the difference.
This is just my perspective, children need protecting and nurturing to grow and thrive to become well adjusted, self sufficiant, caring adults.
Sorry so long, I've just been thinking about this tragic incident and wanted to put my two cents in.... |
