Great thread, very interesting.
To me, a backyard breeder is someone who ruins the reputation of the breed. The more popular the dog, the more backyard breeders, and this leads to inferior dogs. For years toy breeds had a terrible reputations and to a lesser extent all purebreds. It is so good to know that there are some good profession breeders contributing to this forum.
