Etc. Etc. ETc. Etc.

We get posts like this all the time - and most of us who read these posts say how sorry we are and that a similar thing may have happened to us - and take the pup to the vet - and don't beat yourself up - accidents happen....

Personally - my pup (8 weeks old) lurched out of my arms and fell onto the kitchen floor. He was perfectly okay - but as all of you must know - this absolutely scared me to death. Instead of his being just fine - the outcome could have been tragic. I certainly quickly learned how to hold on to a puppy - nevertheless - it was an accident....one that I learned from.

Peters - your reply could have been directed to a number of us here on YT -

Paraphrasing your QUOTE: When it comes down to it stupidity is no excuse and i have no pitty for anyone who doesn't have any common sense espically when it comes to a defenceless pet ! the dog couldn't have done anything to prevent or stop this but (you) easily could have!! (You) should be held responsible by the law! . . . .

**** I still feel very sorry for the little girl involved in this sad story.......

Carol Jean,

I agree with you whole heartedly. There are very few 9-year-old children who would intentionally harm puppies. And, based on the way she bursted out crying multiple times about it, etc, I highly doubt that she did it intentionally. I think some of you are forgetting about what it's like to be 9. Yes, 9 y/o's are mature in some senses, but in others they are still very innocent.

Perhaps the shoe cleaner/protector, whatever it was looked just like an air freshener they had at home, so she didn't think twice to stop and read the fine print about how harmful it is to animals (which, honestly, what child would???).

I just find it ridiculous that some people think this child should be punished beyond what she is always feeling. What do you do when you've done something horrible (like hurt your puppy on accident)?? You beat yourself up over it! Just like they say, you are your own worst critic. Those of you that would rather punish this little girl rather than console her could literally alter her life for the worse. Tragic events like this seriously mess children up for the rest of their lives.

I used to volunteer in the ER, and I know of 18 y/o's that have done way worse than this... better yet, I know of ADULTS that have done worse than this. Is it always on purpose? No. Most of the time it's an accident. Like someone said before S*** happens!

I feel absolutely awful for the child...
