I have the "Lookout Carseat" --- I think you can just search for this on Google. (I have even seen it advertised on this site.) It also comes in two sizes - you could easily put two dogs in the larger one -- or a larger dog.

The Lookout carseat is a great and sturdy seat - it should last a lifetime... and you can hook your dog to a harness in this seat if you wish. The carseat, itself, can be fastened in with the seatbelt....so it will stay put.

Air bags???? I actually called the Dealership about this because I was concerned too.

They told me to move the passenger seat back as far as possible and that my dog should be safe in his carseat even if the airbag employs.

They told me that a lot of people have mistaken notions about airbags A lot of people think that airbags open up all the way to the back of the seat that a person is riding in. But - the truth is that they only open and extend a foot or a foot and a half out. So -- he told me that with the front seat moved as far back as possible - and with the type of dog carseat that I have - I shouldn't have to worry at all.

Anyway - my dogs only ride in front for the first few rides. I move them and their carseats to the back as soon as possible. I may have a little whinning for a ride or two, but they quickly adjust.

I have been told that with newer cars - we have the option to turn off the airbag on the passenger side -- is this true?
