Yes, that is normal. Breeders do that to prevent the puppies they sell without breeding rights from being bred.
To post pictures...under the reply box to respond to threads there is a section - Additional Options - click the Manage Attachment button, then upload the pictures from your computer. They have to be small enough or you will have to resize them for it to work.
