You can always glue the ears down if you're wanting them to stay floppy.
Just go to your nearest Sally's (or other Salon) where they sell weave glue. It's safe for your dog and it works beautifully! A few breeders I know use it to glue down their Staffordshire Bull Terrier pups ears once they begin the weaning process.

Just an idea since you said you had wished they'd stay floppy. If you wanna give this a go, it's real easy, real cheap and you can always PM me and I'll give you the full details on how often and things like that!
