Laura- you are exactly right! I guess I should have clarified better... Bunny barked when she ws at the breeders BEFORE she came home. We don't tolerate barking in our house either. Tino is a year old and I can count on one hand the amount of times he has barked since I trained him not to. I used the method that I read in a book ... since I potty trained him with an ex pen, when he would bark, I would not let him out and I would not look at him and would totally ignore him, but when he was quiet I would praise him and give him a treat. And he is NOT a barker. I live in a condo and there is no way I could still be friends with my neighbors if my dogs barked. We are doing the same thing with Bunny. SHe is more vocal than Tino was, but we just turn our backs to her and don't give into her when she barks and for the most part we are having luck.
