I don't want to put a damper on the puppy barking fun, but I made a rule right away. As cute as their barking is at that age, that is what makes yappy dogs. It is not as cute a year from now when they constantly want your attention and bark to get it. You can't have a conversation with your friends or family and the neighbors dont like it. No barking - even playing.
Our dogs are over a year now - it is nice - our friends and neighbors say things like 'I always thought Yorkies were yappy dogs' - but they don't have to be.
One of my friends gave away an adorable min-pin for being a yapper. She couldn't take it anymore.
Sorry, I do think their puppy barks are adorable, just try to enjoy and say 'no'. |
