I think dogs get feelings about other dogs, just as they do with some people. Rocky, for example, usually loves other dogs, but occasionally he will growl at one. At petsmart the other day there were 2 German Shepards (I think that's what they were, they could've been mixed) walking around, but they weren't together. One Rocky was crying to go play with him, but the other one Rocky walked by and gave him the nastiest growl.
