I wouldn't cut the pattern...try tracing the pattern onto interfacing and then try to reduce the size by tracing aroung the INSIDE of it. I have several patterns that I have to try to reduce the size...Lillie isn't as big a Sadie and when I make something to fit Sadie it doesn't fit Lillie..the xs is too small and the small is too big! drives me crazy!
