I don't have any experience with breeding BUT I'm a huge fan of a heating pad. We got Jaxon last January so it was pretty cold and we used the heating pad alot. If we were going out, we'd turn it on for him so he could sleep with it. I found a bed on eBay that you can actually put the heating pad in and he still uses it now.

At Walmart, they have a Sunbeam heating pad that automatically shuts off after a certain period of time. It also has a temperature control with 4 heat options. I find that really good since I don't have to worry about turning it off. Also a little more piece of mind if you turn it on, then leave - you know it will automatically turn off.
