Well, you're probably a normal YORKIE owner , but....

....come on, we ARE all a little nuts!

We love our doglettes dearly, and probably talk more about them than we do our skin kids. But imo, there really does have to come a time when you DO recognize that they're "just dogs".

I love to take them with us whenever we can, but sometimes you just CAN'T. On those days, we leave them penned up in the kitchen, and may not be thrilled about it, but I don't feel terrible about it, either. I think they just sleep most of the time.

Even though they ARE our babies, they ARE afterall FUR babies....it's not like you're leaving a two year old HUMAN baby alone for hours!

Sometimes I see people here (and forgive me if someone has actually stated so on this thread....I didn't read all the posts!) say that if their yorkie isn't welcome somewhere, then they don't go. Usually this is in the context of family...someone's house, events like weddings, etc.

I think that is TERRIBLY sad!!! I think it's completely understandable that not everyone shares or "gets" our obsession with our pets, and imo letting our love for our pets override human relationships and interactions....that's where we need to draw the line on our particular brand of insanity!

"They" always say that obsessions or compulsions are harmless unless they interfere with your normal functions on a daily basis. To me, skipping a niece's wedding (for instance) b/c your dog can't go....that crosses a line.

Otherwise....who's it hurting?! Enjoy SPOILING your pooches, b/c the love and pleasure they give us back is immeasurable.

I think we should understand WHY we look like nuts to people....but we should also feel sorry for THEM....b/c they don't know what they're missing.
