I microwaved the moist food from the refrigerator today and they ate it right up. So my question is, if you go through a can in a weeks time, do you really have to refrigerate it? It is a pain to microwave it and you dirty up another dish.

I would keep it refrigerated, or put it in the dish and they'll eat it when it warms up. I feed mine their soft food on a plain old saucers, so it would not be a problem to microwave it. It would be about a 10 second zap.
