You are definitely normal. Maybe not to your friend's standards...........but who cares

I deal with 'they are just animals' all the time. My husband has become annoyed with his friends as well over this. People try to tease him.......but with me, he has truly learned what it is to be owned by pets and love one back

I treat my FURKIDS better than many mother's treat their own skin children
I myself, grew up in foster care and have been there and done that........maybe that's why I wouldn't dare hurt a living thing. (I can't even kill a fly or spider.......as I'll open the door and let it out)

Like you, my furkids (yorkie, toy poodle, cat and hamster) have their own bedroom with more toys than I can count. They sleep in our bed, have accomodated our bed for them (with dog steps etc), have a wardrobe each, eat better food that I , see the vet more than I see my Dr. , go out every Saturday evening (it's their time), fly with me, travel by car (no matter the distance), only stay in pet-friendly hotels with us, and the list goes on and on

Your love for your babies shines through your post. Keep up what you are doing and NEVER let what others think about you get to you. Their is no greater satisfaction than providing the best for a loved one and gettin love in return
