This is your first day with your Yorkie! I would first bond with the puppy for a couple weeks before starting training. He needs to trust, bond and know you first. Set him up in an x-pen maybe in the kitchen with a pee pad on one end, food, water and a bed at the other end. I would hold him and cuddle and do not put him on the carpet unless he has just gone.
Start very slow and set him up for success. It is a slow process but worth it. Congratulations on your new pup! |
