OMG that's so scary!
A few summers back a huge hawk/eagle (I don't know WHAT it was!) landed on the ledge of my balcony - I'm on the 10th floor of a high rise. I was just sitting at the table happily eating my cheerios when I looked up and saw it sitting there staring in at me. Freaked me out. It was at least 2 feet tall, and tawny and white with a big sharp hooked beak (it wasn't an owl). My bichon was at my feet but snoozing and didn't see the bird thankfully because he probably would have ran at it.
It stayed for a few minutes while I just stared, then flew off. Never saw it again.
