Don't fret too much, sometimes the coat that you're describing turn out to be the nicest. When I 1st brought my Savannah home, she looked like she had mange....we called her the cat that barked......I showed her to my mentor.....her words were she's going to have a lovely, correct coat and she did.

One thing you can do is over brush, never brush a dry or dirty coat. Conditioners can make a coat heavy and flat. Do you use a clarifying shampoo on occassion?
