I don't understand why in the world you would put a deposit on another dog ? It's your mothers house , period! She already has trouble with the expense of 1 pup and the peeing on the carpet. Like others said rent is only 1 expense of moving out. Car Ins, car payments, gas, health Ins, food, clothes, dr's appts, dentist, electric bills, heat, phone , school supplies, dog food, vet bills, shampoo, make up, going out with friends , laundry, the list goes on and on. I guess you can tell I am a mom too. My son is 22 and still lives at home and doesn't pay rent. Time for a reality check for him too ! Sorry to sound like a old grumpy woman , but all I can say as you will understand where your mom is coming from when you get older. College is a huge expense for a parent and then they are going to pay your rent too. Also replacing carpet in the home is expensive, thousands! Stick with your 1 darling puppy and wait until you are on your own and college is over.

I got Teddy w/o my mom's permission and I said SURPRISE and my mom loved him. I always gave clues as to what I was in to and at the time I was living at my bf's house, which I still do or can do but I sleep at my house too because my clothes and everything is here. He sleeps at my house too and she doesn't mind at all. So at the time I got Teddy I figured if my mom didn't want Teddy in the house I can just stay at my bf's house which I did because I practically lived there. Recently I have been staying at my house because of school, so I can study on my own, work out on my mom's threadmill, just have independent time and my mom doesn't mind Teddy at all. She just had the occasional complain about him having accidents but he has not had ANY accidents at all in the past 2 weeks I would say. Also I don't have carpet. I have old floors that have not been changed in a looong time so when Teddy used to go on the floor I just would clean it up. I put the deposit on the other puppy because my mom wanted a girl for herself and she had told me to look online for her. Well I did and I mentioned to her that I was going to get another one and I even showed her the pictures of Tabitha a loong time ago and she was fine with it and just said awww. Well she didn't mention again that she still wanted the girl so I went a put the deposit thinking well she said she wanted one so I'll just get her anyway. We hadn't talked about it again after that time but she didn't say anything about me not getting her. She just complained one time about Teddy's pee accidents after my brother said his little comment when he was visiting. I understand living on your own can cost a lot. That is why I am going to start working to start saving up for expenses, etc. I have health insurance because my mom's a nurse so that's not a problem.
