Like others said rent is only 1 expense of moving out. Car Ins, car payments, gas, health Ins, food, clothes, dr's appts, dentist, electric bills, heat, phone , school supplies, dog food, vet bills, shampoo, make up, going out with friends , laundry, the list goes on and on. I guess you can tell I am a mom too. My son is 22 and still lives at home and doesn't pay rent. Time for a reality check for him too ! Sorry to sound like a old grumpy woman , but all I can say as you will understand where your mom is coming from when you get older. College is a huge expense for a parent and then they are going to pay your rent too. Also replacing carpet in the home is expensive, thousands! Stick with your 1 darling puppy and wait until you are on your own and college is over.

Yep. Time to look at things from Mom's perspective. There is SO much more involved than her "just not wanting another dog in the house".
