It is totally possible you got the ticks on you just from being out in the wooded area......not just coming off the dogs....

I have more problems with ME getting ticks than the dogs.

Last year I had ZERO ticks found on the dogs...but had 3 on ME!!!!! But we are outside alot and we have lots of trees and such. Many ticks just fall from the trees and land on 'whatever' is around. They can hide easily on a dog....but will crawl on a human also. I even asked the vet to recommend a tick collar for people!!!

I agree with the advise given...get the pups on some kind of preventive med and just be careful and look for ticks on yourself after being out in wooded areas.....
