Just realized I didn't say a thing about any of your questions!! Hopefully the vet can tell you what he should eat and what to do about his fur. I have a feeling once he's in a loving home with a good diet, those things will take care of themselves. As far as potty training, it depends on what he's used to...is he outside trained or potty pad trained? It takes lots of patience and time, but even older dogs can be potty trained. There are lots of threads on YT about potty training. Just type it in a search in the blue bar above this to your right and you'll find lots of stuff! Good luck!
