Maggie's breeder did her ears at 8 weeks. Took 3 days for them to stand up. She shaved the backside of the ear, (top 1/3), then she clipped the edges of the ear (again top 1/3). She then folded the ear together, wrapped a skinny piece of gauze around the ear and taped it with masking tape. She told me that 99% of all Yorkie's ears stand on their own, but she likes for the puppies ears to stand when they get to go to their new homes. She also reminded me that their ears will go up and down depending on how they feel. She said teething, stress, etc. will cause the ears to flop, but will stand back up when feeling better.
