Now that she is in the habit of going on the carpet, it will be nearly impossible to break her of it. My advice is to keep her confined to a hard surface floor, and don't ever allow her to run on the carpet unsupervised.

You will have to catch her in the act every time and scold immediately. Every time she goes without being caught just reinforces the behavior.

Invest in some gates.
